Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Decompression for Thoracic Spinal Stenosis

چکیده
In conventional thoracic laminectomy, postoperative complications such as dural tears, cerebrospinal fluid leakage, infection, and iatrogenic spinal cord injury are relatively common. To address these issues, unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) techniques for laminectomy have been developed published, demonstrating various advantages over with satisfactory clinical results. comparison to the UBE decompression technique approach bilateral (ULBD) appears be safe effective treating ossified ligamentum flavum (OLF) or stenosis. Thoracic ULBD by preserves paraspinal muscle ligament that would otherwise resected during posterior approach, it has added benefit of reducing back pain atrophy. This manuscript covers technical aspects implementation using in patients OLF stenosis, indications benefits this procedure, tips preventing complications. With a review previously published articles on UBE, we also summarize whether procedure is can prevent injuries.

Biportal Endoscopic Spinal Surgery for Recurrent Lumbar Disc Herniations
The major problems of revision surgery for recurrent lumbar disc herniation (LDH) include limited visualization due to adhesion of scar tissue, restricted handling of neural structures in insufficient visual field, and consequent higher risk of a dura tear and nerve root injury. Therefore, clear differentiation of neural structures from scar tissue and adhesiolysis performed while preserving st...

This study aimed to evaluate the safety and curative effect of percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar spinal canal decompression in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis. This retrospective study recruited 64 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis who underwent percutaneous endoscopic lumbar spinal canal decompression via surgical approach of posterolateral intervertebral foramen. The pos...
متن کاملMinimal Invasive Decompression for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis
Lumbar spinal stenosis is a common condition in elderly patients and may lead to progressive back and leg pain, muscular weakness, sensory disturbance, and/or problems with ambulation. Multiple studies suggest that surgical decompression is an effective therapy for patients with symptomatic lumbar stenosis. Although traditional lumbar decompression is a time-honored procedure, minimally invasiv...
متن کاملMicro Lumbar Decompression for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis
Spinal stenosis was described, for the first time, as one of the causes of neural compression by Bailey and Casamajor (1) in 1911. Later, in 1954, it was described by Verbiest (2) as the typical clinical presentation of bilateral neurogenic claudication, which is provoked by prolonged standing and lower back extension and relieved by sitting and flexing the lumbar spine. Degenerative lumbar spi...
متن کاملMinimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression for Spinal Stenosis
Over 1.2 million patients are diagnosed with, and in active treatment for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) at any given time. Typically, these patients experience discomfort while walking or standing, for any length of time. The LSS treatment algorithm contains a gap of under-treated patients between epidural steroid injections (ESI) and open surgery. With the introduction of a minimally invasive l...
